Description
A winter view of this fortress town before the devastating summer fire of 1805. The new U. S. government schooner Adams is seen at anchor in the moonlight. The Adams was captured along with Fort Detroit in August, 1812, and later burned in October, 1812 on the Niagara River in a recapture attempt.
