Inscribed on former frame (Accs. X 4-1, 2 and 3 formerly framed together), below painting: TORONTO. 1803. / FROM PENCIL SKETCHES SUPPLIED BY / DR SCADDING TO ARTHUR COX 1876. Presumed to be after a Walsh watercolour once owned by Scadding, a lithograph after which is in J. Timperlake, Illustrated Toronto, 1877, opp. p. 56. Former negative T 10428; Gelatin-silver print, 190?, Acc. B 3-96c. Looking east along Front St. E., the north east corner of Jarvis St. at left. TEC 4.5.
