Hopkins' oil painting "Canoes in a Fog, Lake Superior", 1869, and a watercolour study for it are in Glenbow-Alberta Institute. Another oil is in ROM and another watercolour study is in Art Gallery of Hamilton. (Glenbow Collects, 1970, pp. 20-21; The Beaver, Autumn 1971, pp. 4-19; Canada in the Nineteenth Century, 1984, no. 46).
