Inscribed in ink, b.: A View of York (Toronto) Upper Canada, 1820, From the Original Oil owned by Mrs. Stephen Heward. Painted by Mr. Irvine, a Scotch Artist residing in York at the time. / The View shows the Peninsula, now an Island, with Lighthouse, Toronto Bay & Front St. from the Garrison on the West to the Market and Palace Street, East, to the Parliament Buildings, near the Foot of Berkeley Street destroyed by Fire in the Year 1824. JRR (1912) 517
