The center keelson is gone on with after the plating and laid off with a mold, the top and bottom angles hav- ing a uniform pitch of rivet holes. The top and bottom angles are laid off with short battens having a uni- form pitch of rivet holes which are moved along until the whole length of the angle is marked. The center _keelson vertical angles are marked from two molds, a right and left or one mold Tee shaped. These angles are riveted to the center keelson be- fore the floor and connections:are put up, care being taken that the space between the angles is kept the thick- ness of the center keelson brackets. . The bottom angles are punched and erected in place on the keel and the center keelson plate dropped in be- tween same and riveted up. Girder stiffeners and inter- costal clips are marked with a tee- shaped mold, forming a right and left angle for the port and starboard side of the vessel. Tank top stiffeners and intermedi- ate angles require two molds for each, - one for the tank top holes and the other for the brackets on standing flange connecting same to the girders. The channel floor, bilge and center keelson brackets, intercostal clips and girder stiffeners are riveted together and erected in place in one piece. ~ The girders are laid off with strips, one mold serving the purpose of all holes for the stiffeners and top an- gles; holes are marked from another mold the width between the tank top stiffener and intermediates.
