FREIGHT SITUATION. There is little change to be noted in the general freight situation since last week. The movement of ore 'is quite heavy and it would not be -sur- prising if the October movement al- most equals the September movement. The Pittsburg Steamship Co. is be- ginning to place its barges in ordi- nary, and will operate all the steam- ers alone after the present month. Line boats have practically | with- drawn from the grain trade owing to the g'eat increase in package freight, and grain rates have accordingly been marked up. : CONSTRUCTION AT PERCHES RANGE, MICH.
