Many of the railroad companies are at present em- barrassed by reason of the lack of funds, but these difficulties will sure- ly, even though gradually, be over- come. Many of the railroad compa- nies have already taken steps to finance their requirements, and all are beginning to realize that money is plentiful, and cheap and easy to obtain when first-class securities are offered. "All that is requisite to 'bring about satisfactory business conditions is the restoration of perfect confidence, and that appears to be near at hand, In ' many lines of business there is no ground for complaint. In some dc partments of the agricultural im ment trade, for instatce, the sales pe day are now the greatest in the h tory of the country. This shows t a demonstration two things: That th farmers, the great wealth producer of the country, have confidence financial conditions, and that they ar satisfied with crop prospects for th year. : B "The basic conditions of the coun. try are sound.
