The Rover had been sent out as a helper to the Lourey and after passing Dam No. 2, was placed at the head of the tow. The force of the current and_ the Lourey coming behind caused. the Rover to overturn, and the four coal boats at the head of the tow buckled and went down., The rest of the tow, breaking loose, scattered and floated down the river, grounding at various points. The crew of 14 on the Rover lost everything but the clothes they were wearing and had a narrow escape from death. The accident occurred near the point where the tow boats Tom Dodsworth and Boaz lost 16 barges of coal on June 7. ITEMS OF INTEREST.
