Every mechanical operation, from cooking to propulsion, is done by electricity. All the main electrical equipment on this dredge and her three sister ships was supplied by the Westinghouse Company. Her 700 kw. Diesel-driven generators, her 800 hp. propelling motors, her deck auxiliary motors, and her flexible system of control are all products of Westinghouse marine en- gineering experience.
