First to appreciate the tre- mendous significance of the marine Diesel engine to American shipping, Nelseco was first to begin its manufacture. Intensive study of European Diesels led to the early selection of the M. A. N. type as a working basis. Then began the process of evolution which has produced the Nelseco—M. A. N.
