Description
A tug (name appears to be “Douglas”), white with red and green stripes, is towing a barkentine with sails furled. Smoke from the tug obscures the vessel’s hull. The tow is passing two smaller schooners. Said to be the head of Belle Isle near Detroit. Signed Charles Eaton, 1873, identified as a student of Robert Hopkin. Donated by Mrs. Lloyd S. Linton.
