Description
Colored lithograph of D&C ships City of Alpena (1893) and City of Detroit (1889) passing at night. Spague was fond of painting dramatic night scenes. Often referred to as “Spotlight Salute,” this lithograph is matted in a gold leaf frame covered by glass, and was originally displayed in the reception room of the Detroit & Cleveland Navigation Company’s executive offices in Detroit. It was donated by Raymond Kolowich in 1958, who was the last owners of the D&C Line.
