Merida
Built 1893 at West Bay City, Mich.
Hull, of steel, built by F. W. Wheeler & Company. Length of keel 360 feet; over all 378 feet, extreme beam 45 feet; depth of hold 25 feet.
Engine, triple expansion, constructed by the Frontier Iron Works, Detroit. Diameter of cylinders 23, 37 and 62 inches, by 44 inches stroke.
Boilers, three, return tubular, built by Wickes Bros., Saginaw, Mich. Length of each 12 feet; diameter 12 1/2 feet.
Wheel, 4 blades. Diameter 14 feet; pitch 17 1/2 feet.
Tonnage 3261 Gross 2610 Net
A magnificent modern cargo carrying steamship of the Great Lakes. Owned by D. C. Whitney.
