    This unnamed seascape, which includes a few sailing vessels in stormy weather, is dated 1908. It is painted with a heavy palette typical of Hopkin’s style in his later years. He died in 1909.

    This oil painting depicts the steam freighter Coralia navigating a river toward an industrial complex, likely steel mills. The vessel was built at Cleveland in 1896, and sailed for a number of firms

    Built as the Grace McMillan in 1879, this ship was an early Frank E. Kirby vessel constructed by the Detroit Dry Dock Company. In 1900, she was sold to Detroit’s White Star Line and renamed IDLEWILD.

    Vessels name was changed to City of Cleveland III in 1912.
