- This volume consists of log entries recording shipwrecks and other marine casualties recorded at the Port of Chicago. Entries include times and places of the occurrences, names, numbers and descriptions of the vessels, ports of registry, names and residences of the owners and masters, values of the vessels and their cargoes, insurance, numbers of passengers and crew members, names of persons who were lost, the kinds and values of lost cargoes, damage to the vessels, and summaries of the causes of the casualties.
